The Project

Launched on Space X Falcon 9 on 2.15.2024 from Kennedy Space Center

Landed on Moon South Pole on 2.22.2024

77,000+ Total Artifacts from 222 Art Projects

Location: Malapert Latitude Longitude Diameter A 80.13°S 1.44°E

Galactic Legacy Labs along with its partners Space Blue and the Arch Mission Foundation (“AMF”) made international headlines and history by sending human creativity to the lunar surface. Space Blue oversaw the final curation of the 222 art projects at the Lunaprise Museum compiling the final list of artwork, and artists and developing the certification processes for all artwork involved. The Lunaprise archive includes artists curated in the Lunar Art Archive, a project steered by AMF and Lunar Codex a subset of the Lunaprise which were designated as nonart memorial/commemorative messages called “Lunagrams”. The Lunaprise was attached to the Odesseyus Lunar Lander which landed on the Moon on February 22nd of 2024. For the first time in over 50 years, NASA and the United States landed on the Moon, and this time with the Lunaprise, it was with a historic human and artistic timestamp of past and present, lasting in space for over 1 billion years. The landing site is within proximity of where NASA’s Artemis mission is planning to send humans to land there and build a colony on the south pole region of the moon.

GitHub USE: The purpose of the Lunaprise archive and depository in Github is to deposit and provide the public worldwide access to important information from the Lunaprise Time Capsule and Moon-based Lunar Museum, along with important descriptive information about the project. Readers can find the link on GitHub here. The artwork itself is not stored there as artists’ real-world assets, they elect to showcase them in museums, or at auctions and release them to their own plans. However, the mission facts, metadata of the key artists’ works including details on how many art pieces, and the data pertaining to the actual inscription to the metallic plates sent to the mon, along with detailed photos and videos of behind-the-scenes leading up to the launch, and background information on the mission are stored there. Some art projects are not publically known and landed on the moon due to confidentiality and privacy expressed by the art collectors/artists. Each art projects by the time to the book of the mission is released will be revealed in the forthcoming book expected to be released in 2025.

The 222 curated art projects spans over 30,000 years of human history from Michaelangelo, Van GoughLeonardo Davinci, the music of legends like Jimmi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, and Led Zepplin, to the modern era all of which have digital twins stored on the moon now that will last over 1 billion years.

There is a music library as well spanning the top artists of our time from Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and original beats of icons like Justin Timberlake and Sabrina Carpenter.

The image above shows the location of 18 layered Lunaprise Time Capsule Disc Systems bolted to the Odessyus lander, which stored over 77,000 artifacts (images, mp3s, mp4 files).

The image below shows an actual image of the Odessyus lunar lander on the south pole of the moon snapped by a Lunar camera “selfie”.

Official Verification/Artist Certification Website:

The curators also established a page to allow the public and interested collectors to verify that certain artists are official participants in the mission at www.verify.spaceblue.club. It is the only trusted source for verification of the artists involved and related metadata.

Expansion of archives will continue in museum exhibits, university and academic tours, and a book release.
